Configuring Outlook Anywhere Settings via Autodiscover

Below is how to configure the following settings to be set via the autodiscover service for outlook anywhere.

To configure "use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange:"

Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -Server "enter address here"

To configure the "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate box" use:

Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName "msstd:address that appears as primary on certificate"

    Silly question (sorry)

We have outlook anwyhere enabled and (seems to be) working however if I run the following cmd
    [PS] D:\>get-OutlookProvider

    Name Server CertPrincipalName TTL
    ---- ------ ----------------- ---
    EXCH 1
    EXPR 1
    WEB 1

my server and CertPrincipleName are blank..

Are these parameters essestial for in order for outlookanywhere to work correctly?

(I think autodiscover.xml provides these settings to clients)

    Many thanks

  2. Yes, the CertPrincipalName and the Server name. To view these attributes please run:

    Get-OutlookProvider "EXPR" | fl

  4. So my exchange environment doesnt allow outlook clients to connect via anywhere. I see my outlook providers are completely blank. When i run Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -Server "enter address here" what is the address? the internal address or the external DNS address.
